FOR ATTENTION OF CITIZENS OF TURKMENISTAN!

We would like to draw your attention to the fact that false information is being disseminated on the Internet (social networks) about the extension of biometric passports of citizens of Turkmenistan temporarily or permanently residing in some foreign countries for a period beyond 31.12.2024.
In pursuance of the Order of the President of Turkmenistan dated May 9, 2022 "Procedure for marking the extension of the passport of a citizen of Turkmenistan for departure from and arrival in Turkmenistan", we remind you that the validity of the passport of a citizen of Turkmenistan is extended only until December 31, 2024!
Based on the above, we inform citizens of Turkmenistan temporarily or permanently residing in foreign countries about the need to replace biometric passports upon expiration of their validity until December 31, 2024.
In this regard, in accordance with the joint order of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the Minister of Internal Affairs and the head of the State Migration Service dated June 5, 2020 "Procedure for issuing a certificate for return to Turkmenistan", we inform citizens of Turkmenistan temporarily or permanently residing in foreign countries that in the event of loss, theft, expiration or unsuitability (broken chip) of biometric passports of citizens of Turkmenistan, as well as for children born abroad from citizens of Turkmenistan, the "Certificate for return to Turkmenistan" is issued solely for the purpose of returning to their country.
