TURKMENISTAN CELEBRATED THE NATIONAL HOLIDAY OF THE TURKMEN ALABAY.

This Sunday, on October 26, Turkmenistan celebrated the national holiday of the Turkmen Alabay.

In his congratulatory address to his fellow citizens on the occasion of the holiday, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted:

"This unique holiday, celebrated in honor of the Turkmen Alabay, has special significance during the International Year of Peace and Trust. Turkmen Alabay dogs possess natural qualities as protectors of the home and the world, and are models of loyalty.

Today, the Turkmen Alabay, having preserved its original appearance, has become one of the symbols of beauty, material and spiritual values of our people. The Turkmen people, who bred purebred horses, created an exemplary system for breeding purebred dogs.

Our ancestors instilled in Alabay such qualities as loyalty to their owners, vigilance, intelligence, and courage. Purebred Alabay are a remarkable contribution of the ancient Turkmen people to world culture."

The main celebrations for this significant event took place in the open arena of the Ashgabat Equestrian Complex, during which the results of the International Competition "Ýylyň türkmen edermen alabaýy" and the creative competition for the artistic embodiment of the image of the Turkmen Alabay in works of fine and decorative arts, printed materials, photographs, and television channels were summed up.
