MAGTYMGULY POETRY DAYS: A SERIES OF CULTURAL AND EDUCATIONAL EVENTS DEDICATED TO THE DAY OF CULTURE AND ARTS WORKERS AND THE POETRY OF MAGTYMGULY PYRAGY
Every year on June 27, Turkmenistan widely celebrates the Day of Culture and Arts Workers and the Poetry of Magtymguly Pyragy, the outstanding 18th-century Turkmen poet and philosopher whose works constitute an integral part of the spiritual heritage of the Turkmen people and a significant contribution to the world's cultural legacy.
In anticipation of this important occasion, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Ukraine, in cooperation with the Magtymguly Library, is organizing the Magtymguly Poetry Days, which will take place from June 11 to June 19, 2026, in both online and offline formats.
The programme includes poetry readings of Magtymguly's works in various languages of the world, featuring members of the Turkmen diaspora, diplomats, Ukrainian cultural figures, librarians, writers, educators, university students, and schoolchildren. The programme will also feature live online broadcasts with scholars and researchers of the poet's literary heritage, thematic presentations by diplomats, publications of musical compositions based on Magtymguly's poetry on the library's YouTube and Facebook platforms, as well as guided tours of the Magtymguly museum room operating within the library.
The Magtymguly Poetry Days represent a new format of cultural engagement aimed at promoting the rich literary heritage of the great Turkmen poet to a broad international audience. The events are intended to foster cultural dialogue, expand humanitarian ties, and encourage mutual enrichment of the cultures of Turkmenistan and Ukraine.
We warmly invite everyone to join these events and discover the wisdom and beauty of Magtymguly Pyragy's poetic legacy.
Announcements of live broadcasts and other events are available on the social media pages of the Magtymguly Library.
