PREPARATIONS UNDERWAY FOR THE TURKMENISTAN INVESTMENT FORUM

The Turkmenistan Investment Forum will be held in Ashgabat in October. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers H. Geldimyradov reported on the preparations for the event at the Cabinet meeting held on 24 July.

According to the report, the Investment Forum and its accompanying events will address issues related to Turkmenistan’s economic development and investment attractiveness, as well as key areas of the fuel and energy sector, industrial development, and the expansion of reliable transport and communication systems.

In addition, the main topics of discussion will include digital and green transformation for sustainable development, the introduction of digital financial technologies, agricultural entrepreneurship, strengthening the resilience of the agricultural sector in the face of climate change, and environmental protection.

The programme also envisages an exchange of views on the development of trade, the service sector and public-private partnerships, areas of cooperation with leading financial institutions, and the strategic directions for economic diversification.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that Turkmenistan is carrying out productive work to attract foreign investment into the national economy and to expand international cooperation in this field.
