CRAFTSWOMEN IN TURKMENISTAN’S WESTERN REGION WEAVE A GIANT CARPET

Craftswomen of the Kyzyl-Arvat Artistic Carpet Weaving Enterprise are working on a giant carpet to mark Turkmenistan’s Independence Day.

According to Turkmenistan: Golden Age, the giant carpet will measure 23 metres in width and 12 metres in length. Its total area will be 276 square metres. The “gushly göl” pattern is featured against the carpet’s white background.

A total of 84 carpet weavers are working on the giant carpet. The work is expected to be completed by the end of August.

The source notes that the carpet will be a worthy gift from the enterprise’s workforce to mark the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence.
