TURKMENISTAN TO BUILD NEW ONCOLOGY CENTERS AND HOSPITALS

Turkmenistan plans to build new oncology centers and multidisciplinary hospitals, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov announced at a meeting of the Halk Maslahaty in Ashgabat on Wednesday.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov announced plans to build international-level oncology centers in Mary, Balkan and Lebap provinces, a tuberculosis hospital in Dashoguz province, a Regional Multidisciplinary Hospital in the city of Mary, as well as inter-district multidisciplinary hospitals in Gyzylarbat, Koneurgench, Kerki and Yoloten districts. “Protecting the health of the people and ensuring the well-being of the country is our foremost goal,” Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized.

Construction is currently underway on the Ashgabat City Multidisciplinary Hospital, a health center in the Buzmeyin district, an inter-district multidisciplinary hospital in the city of Tejen in Ahal province, as well as a Maternal and Child Health Center in the city of Dashoguz. The foundations of 50 health centers and rural health centers in the regions are planned to be laid in the near future.

As the Head of state noted, these projects are being implemented under the State Program Saglyk, developed with the direct participation of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, National Leader of the Turkmen people. The health care sector is being consistently improved through the introduction of new technologies, as well as increasing the accessibility and quality of medical services, while large-scale measures to train specialists and improve their qualifications are being implemented in cooperation with world-renowned medical centers.

This year, the International Center of Pediatrics, the International Scientific and Clinical Oncology Center and the Dental Center will open in Ashgabat, while a complex of buildings for a new additional medical facility at the Archman sanatorium will open in Baherden district of Ahal province. The ceremonies will be timed to coincide with Health Workers and Medical Industry Day.
