New Akhal-Teke Equestrian Complex of the President of Turkmenistan Opened in Ashgabat

A grand opening ceremony of the new 1,200-seat Akhal-Teke Equestrian Complex of the President of Turkmenistan was held at the foothills of the Kopetdag, dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the country's independence.

The festive event was attended by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The large-scale event was graced by performances by masters of arts, demonstration shows by the world-famous "Galkynyş" National Equestrian Games Group, and a high-tech drone show.

The ceremony participants inspected modern stables, indoor arenas, scientific laboratories for breeding work, and specialized plots where eco-friendly feed is grown—apples, alfalfa, and a special carrot variety for the balanced diet of the "heavenly" horses.

The culmination of the holiday featured traditional horse races among master jockeys and national goresh wrestling competitions.

A highlight of the day was also the honoring of the winners of the Alabai beauty contest, as well as a traditional wedding ceremony during which President Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated the newlyweds and presented them with the keys to a new apartment.
