THE TRANSFER OF EXHIBITS TO THE MUSEUM OF MAGTYMGULY LIBRARY IN KYIV
On February 15, 2024, an important event took place in the Magtymguly Library in Kyiv. Diplomats of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Ukraine in a solemn ceremony donated new exhibits of decorative and applied arts of Turkmenistan and Turkmen book products in different languages to the Magtymguly Museum.
Valuable exhibits collected and sent by the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan are unique examples of the rich heritage of the Turkmen people and their spiritual traditions, carefully preserved and passed on from generation to generation.
The host, represented by the head of the culture department of the Sviatoshynska District State Administration in Kyiv Elena Starodubova, the director of the Centralized library system "Svichado" Svetlana Gonda and the director of the Magtymguly Library Elena Zubar, expressed gratitude for the invaluable exhibits received for the museum, which are especially significant in the anniversary year and will serve for wider study and dissemination of the invaluable heritage of the Turkmen classical poet.
From now on, in the Magtymguly Museum you can see works of folk crafts, elegant carpets made by Turkmen needlewomen, national women's jewelry, Turkmen clothing and headdresses, samples of authentic musical instruments “dutar”, “gyzhak”, “gopuz” and “reed pipe”, and of course the images of Magtymguly Fragi in sculpture, woven on canvas and in paintings by talented Turkmen artists. The museum and library collection are replenished with Turkmen literature, in particular books by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, publications about the history, culture, architecture of Turkmenistan, books about the outstanding poet Magtymguly, his priceless poetic heritage, a collection of poems by the great Kobzar Taras Shevchenko in the Turkmen language.
During the meeting, the parties outlined and discussed a plan of joint events dedicated to the celebration this year of the 300th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding classical poet of the East, master of words and philosophical thought Magtymguly Fragi.
