Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Ukraine Toyly Atayev welcomed the students who chose the extremely interesting specialty “economic diplomacy” as an effective mechanism for managing global processes, building national interests in the general context of ensuring sustainable development of the regional and global economy.

Mr. Atayev introduced students to general information about Turkmenistan - a country in the Central Asian region with a developing economy and industry, he spoke about the main national holidays, the history of acquiring neutral status, focusing on the “model of the Turkmen economy” as a result of the Law on Permanent Neutrality in attracting global investors to Turkmenistan.

The Ambassador of Turkmenistan dwelled on information about the stages of development and achievements of the country in the fields of economics, fuel and energy complex, transport, social sphere, international politics, incl. cooperation with the UN, UNESCO and other international organizations. In the context of what was said about the goals of sustainable development, the Ambassador drew the attention of young people to the trend of increasing influence in the world of countries with economies in transition, which have great demographic, scientific, production and resource potential, thanks to which, along with other factors, they play a large role as leaders in the world economy, providers of political, social and humanitarian development. The impact on global processes of countries with economies in transition was discussed in detail in the speech of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov within the framework of the third Antalya Diplomatic Forum, held in March 2024 in Türkiye.

Separately, it was said about the efforts and initiatives of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov in the field of ecology and environmental protection, in particular about the accession of Turkmenistan to the Global Methane Commitment within the framework of the 28th Conference of the Parties to the Framework Convention in Dubai.

Ambassador T. Atayev touched upon all areas of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Ukraine, noting that the level of trade turnover is gradually increasing and the demand for supplies of various products is growing every year.

The cultural sphere of cooperation is especially relevant this year, because in Turkmenistan, like in many other countries, including Ukraine, the 300th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Turkmen poet-thinker Magtymguly Fragi is celebrated. The photo exhibition presented to the students was devoted to the topic of Turkmen culture, architecture and history, which aroused keen interest in the national treasures of the Turkmen people.

The event continued in a question and answer format. Students and their leaders were interested in processes in foreign policy, economics, the place of religion in the context of state development, sports diplomacy and asked about the prospects for partnerships with Ukraine.
