A YOUTH SPORTS EVENT TOOK PLACE IN KYIV AS PART OF THE ANNIVERSARY YEAR «THE FOUNT OF THE WISDOM MAGTYMGULY FRAGI»

On April 24, 2024 the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Ukraine organized Turkmen youth in the Kyiv sports complex “Hollywood”, where they jointly held a cultural and sports event aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle, mass sports and regular physical activity.

The youth timed the event to coincide with the anniversary year taking place in Turkmenistan under the motto “The Fount of the Wisdom Magtymguly Fragi” and the international celebration of the 300th anniversary of the birth of our outstanding poet and thinker Magtymguly.

Today Turkmen youth showed not only good physical shape, but also organized friendly competitions in lifting, bench press, squats, deadlifts, strength exercises with dumbbells, pull-ups on the horizontal bar and parallel bars, running for speed and endurance.

Among the participants, MMA fighter, winner of the regional championship of Ukraine in jiu-jitsu Babageldi Khalymov, a student at the Kharkov Polytechnic Institute, demonstrated his sports training. The athlete showed the technique of various wrestling techniques and shared his professional sports experience with the participants.

Thus, our youth demonstrated that they actively continue to develop the culture of sports, a healthy lifestyle, and strongly support the initiatives of their country, including the anti-tobacco movement. It is known that Turkmenistan is actively fighting against tobacco smoking and contributes to the expansion of tobacco-free territories in the world in accordance with the adopted “National Program for Transforming Turkmenistan into a Tobacco-Free Country for 2022 – 2025.”
