“MELODIES OF THE TURKMEN LAND”: AN EXHIBITION OF CREATIVE WORKS IN THE KYIV LIBRARY BASED ON THE WORKS OF MAGTYMGULY FRAGI
On June 10, 2024, a solemn event was held in the Kyiv library named after Magtymguly with the participation of students of the creative circle “Мистецтвознавці” of the center for Extracurricular Activities of the Svyatoshinsky District of the city of Kiev and the results of a creative art exhibition entitled “Melodies of the Turkmen Land” based on the works of the outstanding poet-thinker of the 18th century Magtymguly Fragi were summed up. The event was initiated by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Ukraine together with the Magtymguly Library.
The work of the brilliant poet - the founder of Turkmen classical literature - is a source of inspiration for different generations and an object for creating new and original masterpieces.
Participants in this creative project, children aged from 6 to 15 years old, brought to life fragments from Fragi’s works on paper, captivated by the patriotic, lyrical, landscape, historical and autobiographical motifs of the author’s work. Here you can see endless flower fields, mountains and rivers of Turkmenistan, the Mausoleum of Torebeg Hanym, the Akhalteke horse, the beloved poet Mengli. The colorful landscapes of the Turkmen land personify the poet’s boundless love for his homeland and its rich heritage.
As part of the solemn ceremony, diplomats of the Embassy of Turkmenistan presented the participants of the exhibition with certificates of honor for their creative and extraordinary contribution to the popularization of the heritage of the outstanding poet of Turkmenistan Magtymguly and turkmen culture, and wished them further success in creative implementation. Embassy staff expressed gratitude to the head of the art circle and the director of the Magtymguly Library for creative initiatives and their implementation.
Also, as part of this event, a video about the life and work of Magtymguly Fragi was shown. And at the final part of the event, the young artists were given an excursion to the room-museum of Magtymguly, the fund of which was replenished at the beginning of the current anniversary year with new exhibits of decorative and applied arts of Turkmenistan and turkmen book products in different languages of the world.
An exhibition of creative works by members of the art circle “Мистецтвознавці” is being held at the Magtymguly Library from June 3 to 16, 2024 and is timed to coincide with the celebration of the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi and the year “The Fount of the Wisdom of Magtymguly Fragi”.
