TURKMENISTAN INVESTMENT FORUM IS BEING HELD IN ASHGABAT
On September 10, 2024, the Turkmenistan Investment Forum (TIF 2024) started in Ashgabat. During two days of the significant forum organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Finance and Economy, as well as the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan, the issues of implementation of investment projects in the country and further development of international cooperation in this sphere will be discussed.
The forum is attended by international experts, representatives and heads of leading national and foreign oil and gas, energy, construction, transport and communication companies, as well as international organizations, financial structures and scientific centers.
Turkmenistan is represented at the grand conference by heads of ministries and agencies, banks, as well as members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.
At the opening ceremony of the international event, the participants listened to a video address of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov. In his address, he emphasized the significance of the event for further economic growth of the country and strengthening of international cooperation.
The participants of the international investment forum then were acquainted with an exhibition on attracting high technologies and innovations to the economy of Turkmenistan
The program of the forum includes a number of thematic sessions, panel discussions and presentations that cover a wide range of topics, from digital transformation and innovation to sustainable development and infrastructural projects.
During the two days, participants will discuss the prospects for the development of Turkmenistan’s energy sector, including renewable energy projects and sustainable use of natural resources, the development of transport infrastructure, including the construction of new roads, railways and ports, as well as improving logistical links.
On the margins of the forum, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with Michael Harms, Executive Director of the Eastern Committee of the German Economy.
During the meeting, the parties discussed bilateral trade and economic ties between Turkmenistan and the Federal Republic of Germany. Successful participation of German companies in the current forum was emphasized.
The sides expressed mutual interest in further development of collaboration, highlighting the constructive nature of cooperation in the healthcare field.
