TURKMENISTAN AND GERMANY STAND FOR FURTHER STRENGTHENING OF BILATERAL COOPERATION
On 17 September 2024, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov is being on a working visit to Astana, the Republic of Kazakhstan, for participation in the second high-level meeting in the “Central Asia-Germany” format.
During the visit, the President of Turkmenistan had a bilateral meeting with Federal Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz.
At the meeting, the sides expressed satisfaction with the opportunity to discuss in person the key issues of constructive interstate cooperation successfully developing on the principles of mutual respect and trust.
The President of Turkmenistan conveyed to the Federal Chancellor of Germany greetings of the National Leader of Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who stood at the roots of constructive cooperation between Turkmenistan and Germany.
The Head of Turkmenistan expressed confidence that this first bilateral meeting with Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz in the framework of the “Central Asia-Germany” dialogue will contribute to further strengthening of Turkmen-German relations.
Olaf Scholz also conveyed greetings and best wishes to the National Leader of Turkmen people. He also noted Germany’s high attention to further deepening of partnership with Turkmenistan, which has gained high standing and recognition in the international arena due to the wise policy and progressive initiatives of the state for the sake of global peace, security and sustainable development.
Emphasizing special attention paid to the development and strengthening of bilateral relations with Germany, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted with satisfaction that the relations between the two countries are developing on a systematic and long-term basis, based on a strong legal framework with 90 different treaties and agreements.
Noting the systematic nature of the reciprocal Days of Economy, business forums and economic exhibitions, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted the role of the Joint Turkmen-German Working Group and the Eastern Committee of the German Economy, which do a lot for the consistent development of interstate cooperation.

On the same day, the President of Turkmenistan met with representatives of German business circles.
At the meeting, the State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action Michael Kellner expressed deep interest of the German business circles in expanding cooperation with Turkmenistan in various favorable fields. It was noted that such great attention of the German side rests on both the accumulated positive experience of many years of joint work, as well as the favorable conditions created in Turkmenistan for foreign business.
After warmly welcoming the leadership of major companies and representatives of the German official delegation, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted with satisfaction the growing interest to cooperation with Turkmenistan, which is clearly demonstrated by the representative level of the meeting participants.
