HEADS OF TURKMENISTAN AND THE REPUBLIC OF UZBEKISTAN HAD A TELEPHONE CONVERSATION

On 22 September 2024, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov had a telephone conversation with President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The Head of Uzbekistan congratulated President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on his birthday, wishing him good health, happiness and great success in his multifaceted work for the prosperity of Turkmenistan and well-being of the Turkmen people.

Taking the opportunity, the President of Uzbekistan asked to convey greetings to the National Leader of Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who has made an important personal contribution to the strengthening and comprehensive development of interstate ties.

Expressing gratitude for the congratulations and good wishes, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that bilateral relations are at a high level.

It was emphasized that the two countries successfully cooperate both in the bilateral format and within authoritative structures. The closeness of views on relevant issues of global and regional politics serves as a solid basis for coordinating efforts in the international space.

The interlocutors noted that the Turkmen-Uzbek cooperation encompasses a wide range of areas, including agriculture, electricity, oil and gas, chemical industry and others.

Successful collaboration between the regions of the two countries, as well as the development of inter-parliamentary ties were noted.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the effectiveness of cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian sphere, particularly in education, science and healthcare.

Taking the opportunity, the President of Turkmenistan thanked his Uzbek counterpart for his great personal contribution to the development of good-neighborly relations between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

At the end of the telephone conversation, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev wished each other good health and further success in their responsible state work, as well as peace, well-being and prosperity to the fraternal peoples of the two countries.
