CONSULTATIONS BETWEEN THE MINISTRIES OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF TURKMENISTAN AND KAZAKHSTAN TOOK PLACE

On October 9, 2024, Turkmen-Kazakh inter-MFA consultations were held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The Turkmen delegation was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister A. Kurbanov, the Kazakh side was represented by Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan E. Konuspayev.

During the talks, a constructive exchange of views on the bilateral agenda took place, the level of political and diplomatic dialogue between the two countries, as well as the implementation of previously reached agreements were considered.

A high level of interaction in the "CA+" format, as well as within the framework of international and regional organizations, primarily the UN, was noted. In this context, gratitude was expressed to the Kazakh side for supporting international initiatives and co-authoring a number of UN resolutions initiated by Turkmenistan.

The parties expressed mutual readiness to develop effective mutually beneficial cooperation in various areas. The effectiveness of inter-parliamentary interaction and the need to intensify inter-MFA cooperation were noted.

Along with this, the current state and prospects of cooperation in the trade and economic sphere, where there is solid potential for joint work, were considered. In particular, the fruitful nature of the meeting of the Turkmen-Kazakh Business Council held on October 8 was noted.

The importance of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Kazakh Commission on Economic, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation, on the platform of which specific projects are being implemented in order to expand bilateral relations, was emphasized.

The issues of deepening cooperation in such priority areas of the economy as the fuel and energy, transport and logistics and industrial sectors were considered. Issues of cultural and humanitarian cooperation were also touched upon.

The parties confirmed their mutual intention to further intensify bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields.
