On January 21, 2025, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Ukraine hosted a presentation of the book by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov "Magtymguly – the Sage of the World".

The event was attended by representatives of Kyiv libraries, Ukrainian universities and media, Turkmen students and the diaspora, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Ukraine Toyly Atayev, Director General of the National Library of Ukraine for Children Alla Gordiyenko, Acting Director of the Library named after Magtymguly in Kyiv Yulia Lopata, Director of the Ukrainian publishing house "AVIAZ" Viktor Zelensky spoke to the audience.

The Ambassador of Turkmenistan presented the new book to the participants, recalling that last year, in honor of the 300th anniversary of the outstanding poet and thinker of the East, Magtymguly Fragi, a series of various events were organized, which continue in accordance with the decision of UNESCO to include the 300th anniversary of the poet in the List of significant dates celebrated in 2024-2025.

Mr. Atayev spoke about the new edition and analyzed its significance and benefits in further studying the legacy of the great Turkmen poet.

In particular, it was noted that the book "Magtymguly – the Sage of the World" comprehensively reveals the significance and role of the poet in the history of the Turkmen people, his contribution to world literature. The book reflects the scientific work on studying the life and work of the thinker, the importance of the poet's wise instructions in strengthening world peace, as well as international events of 2024, held under the motto "Fount of Wisdom Magtymguly Fragi" on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding master of words.

The poet's unique mastery, his wise instructions, the education of the love for their homeland and people inherited from their ancestors in the youth, works imbued with eternity and philosophical meaning, about which the author writes and shares with readers various materials and thoughts about the inexhaustible literary world of Fragi.

The author tells about the emergence and development of Magtymguly studies, methods of scientific study and teaching of Magtymguly work, about the role and influence of the " Magtymguly Fragi school" on the development of Turkmen literature and the formation of his contemporaries and followers. 

The book places special emphasis on the fact that the literary heritage of Magtymguly Fragi predetermined the basis of Turkmenistan's foreign policy and, as the author of the book notes, the proclamation of the UN General Assembly Resolution 2025 - "International Year of Peace and Trust" initiated by our country is based on Magtymguly humanistic ideas, which correspond to the main goals of the UN to establish lasting peace throughout the planet.

The library directors and the publisher who spoke during the presentation, after reading the new book by the President of Turkmenistan "Magtymguly – the Sage of the World", shared their thoughts that culture and humanistic ideas have no borders and are the same for all nations. The library directors emphasized the high importance of the book written by the President of the country in the educational and upbringing process of children and youth, expressing hope that the book will be presented in Ukraine in the Ukrainian language, since the poet’s humanistic ideas and the analysis of the respected author of the book are a scientific aid.

As part of the presentation, a book stand was presented with collections of Magtymguly poetry in Turkmen, Ukrainian and other languages, and studies about the poet-thinker. Among them is the new book by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, entitled “Hakyda göwheri.”.

The exhibition of works of fine and decorative applied art presented to the participants of the presentation included handmade carpets, women's jewelry and accessories, national Turkmen instruments dutar, gyzhak, gopuz, carpets with images of Magtymguly and Bayram Khan Turkmen, paintings and photographs by Turkmen artists.

Traditionally, as part of the Embassy's event, national melodies were played live on the dutar, and its participants were offered treats from dishes of national Turkmen cuisine.
