ON JULY 11 MARKS WORLD HORSE DAY
Today, July 11, the world celebrates World Horse Day for the first time – an event established by the decision of the UN General Assembly. For Turkmenistan, where the Akhal-Teke horse is the embodiment of beauty, grace and national spirit, this day also has a profound meaning. Our country, which has long been inextricably linked with noble racehorses, to which a national holiday celebrated at the state level in Turkmenistan is dedicated, joins this global celebration with a special feeling.
The inclusion of the nomination “Akhal-Teke horse breeding art and horse decoration traditions” in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity has become further evidence that the national values created by the Turkmen people over the centuries are recognized throughout the world.
