TURKMENISTAN AIRLINES LAUNCHES DIRECT ASHGABAT–SEOUL ROUTE

Turkmenistan Airlines has operated its first direct flight from Ashgabat to Seoul, the capital of South Korea. The inaugural flight departed from Ashgabat International Airport on Monday.

The route covers 5,842 kilometers (3,631 miles) and takes about seven hours and 30 minutes. The first flight carried 365 passengers.

Flights on the Ashgabat–Seoul–Ashgabat route will operate once a week, on Mondays.

According to airline representatives, the new route will make travel easier for students, business travelers and tourists, while expanding the national carrier’s international network and strengthening air links between Turkmenistan and South Korea.
