INTERNATIONAL MOTHER LANGUAGE DAY: THE VALUE OF TRADITIONS AND CULTURAL DIVERSITY
On February 21, the international community celebrates International Mother Language Day, a day designed to highlight the value of linguistic and cultural diversity, as well as the importance of preserving native languages as an integral part of peoples' identity.
For the Turkmen people, their native language is a living link between generations, the custodian of national memory, spiritual values, and a rich historical and cultural heritage. Its roots go back centuries, reflecting the centuries-old history, traditions, and worldview of the Turkmen people, embodied in oral folklore, classical poetry, and written monuments.
Respect for the native language, support for linguistic diversity, and concern for the transmission of linguistic heritage to future generations create a solid foundation for expanding humanitarian cooperation, deepening cultural exchange, and further strengthening the friendship between Turkmenistan and Ukraine.
