AMBASSADOR OF TURKMENISTAN DISCUSSES PROMISING AREAS OF TRADE AND ECONOMIC COOPERATION WITH PRESIDENT OF THE UKRAINIAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY

A meeting was recently held between Toyly Atayev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Ukraine, and Gennadiy Chyzhykov, President of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects for the development of Turkmen-Ukrainian trade and economic cooperation, as well as areas of mutual interest to the business communities of the two countries.

Particular attention was paid to opportunities for expanding cooperation in industry, construction, transport and logistics, the agro-industrial sector, pharmaceuticals, and modern technologies. The importance of further increasing bilateral trade and establishing direct contacts between companies of Turkmenistan and Ukraine was also noted.

During the meeting, it was emphasized that Ukrainian companies continue to operate in the Turkmen market and have experience in implementing projects in various sectors. In this regard, opportunities for the further participation of Ukrainian businesses in promising projects in Turkmenistan were discussed.

Transport and logistics as one of the important factors in the development of bilateral trade were addressed as a separate topic.

The Ambassador of Turkmenistan provided information on international forums, conferences, and exhibitions to be held in the country before the end of the year, dedicated to investment, the oil and gas and energy sectors, industry, construction, transport, logistics, telecommunications, and digital technologies.

It was noted that such platforms provide good opportunities for establishing business contacts, presenting the potential of companies, finding new partners, and discussing specific projects. Ukrainian business circles were encouraged to make more active use of opportunities to participate in specialized events held in Turkmenistan.

The important role of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the two countries in maintaining direct dialogue between their business communities was noted. Contacts between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan and the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry continue to develop, including through videoconferences involving interested companies.

The parties agreed to continue working contacts aimed at expanding practical cooperation and strengthening the Turkmen-Ukrainian trade and economic partnership.
