THE EMBASSY OF TURKMENISTAN IN UKRAINE VISITED THE NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF LIFE AND ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES OF UKRAINE AND THE EQUESTRIAN SPORTS BASE OF THE UNIVERSITY
Today, April 30, 2024, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Ukraine Toyly Atayev and diplomatic staff of the embassy visited the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences in Kyiv.
The diplomats held a meeting with the rector and representatives of the university and they discussed the prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of training qualified specialists in specialized areas of agriculture, including horse breeding. The possibilities of establishing relationships between the Ukrainian university and the International Horse breeding Academy named after Aba Annayev, which is the first international academy in Turkmenistan, comprehensively training specialized qualified specialists in the field of horse breeding on a scientific basis, were discussed.
Mr. Atayev informed the university management about the celebrations that took place the day before in Turkmenistan in honor of the National Day of the Turkmen Horse. As it was emphasized, these and other events are being held in our country this year under the motto “The Fount of the Wisdom Magtymguly Fragi” proclaimed in honor of the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the outstanding Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi.
The Ambassador of Turkmenistan spoke about the traditions of Turkmen horse breeding art, included together with the tradition of decorating horses in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, also about modern approaches to preserving and improving the legendary Akhal-Teke horse breed in Turkmenistan, where the decisive role belongs to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. It was said about the achievements of the national equestrian sport, about the talented horse breeder Aba Annayev, whose name today is the International Academy of Horse Breeding, established in 2023 in the city of Arkadag, where the Research and Production Center for Horse Breeding was also built.
Rector of the university Stanislav Nikolayenko, in turn, spoke about the areas of study for NULES students, about the technical and material base of the university, expressed interest in establishing partnerships in areas of mutual interest, because the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences, as one of the leading institutions of education and science in Ukraine, conducts a large scientific, educational and research activities, including in the field of horse breeding and equestrian sports. For the purpose of practical training of specialists in these areas, the University operates an Educational, Research and Production Laboratory of Horse Breeding, headed by a member of the Ukrainian Equestrian Federation and a 2nd category judge in Ukrainian equestrian sports, Anzhelika Didkovska.
The Embassy of Turkmenistan was given a tour of the territory of the university's equestrian sports base, where classes in horse riding, competitive training, open tournaments in dressage and overcoming obstacles are held. The diplomats were shown stallions of various riding breeds and ponies. The stable contains horses of such breeds as Arabian, thoroughbred and Ukrainian riding horses, Tory, Latvian, Jutland and Shetland ponies. The head of the Educational, Scientific and Production Laboratory of Horse Breeding shared her experience in the breeding and selection of Shetland ponies, for which the laboratory has the status of a breeding reproducer.
The next excursion took place around the territory of the Golosiyyvska educational, scientific and production laboratory of beekeeping at the university, where specialists are trained for the field of beekeeping.
