CHAIRMAN OF THE HALK MASLAHATY OF TURKMENISTAN MET WITH THE HEAD OF THE INTERGOVERNMENTAL COORDINATION COUNCIL ON SEED ISSUES OF THE CIS

On September 24, 2024, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with the head of the Intergovernmental Coordination Council on Seed Issues of the CIS I. Kuzmin, who took part in the International Scientific Conference "Achieved Milestones and Set Tasks in Seed Production of Agricultural Crops", and was also awarded the highest state award of Turkmenistan.

Expressing gratitude for the opportunity to meet in person and the hospitality shown on Turkmen soil, the guest highly appreciated the organizational level of the meeting of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, which became a vivid reflection of the unity, cohesion and desire of the Turkmen people to serve one goal. It was also noted that he devoted his life to the development of agriculture, selection work in seed production.

 Having thanked the academician-agrarian for his tireless efforts to improve scientific research in the agricultural sector of Turkmenistan, Hero-Arkadag sincerely congratulated I. Kuzmin on receiving the highest award of our country - the high title of Hero of Turkmenistan for the large-scale work carried out in this direction and his personal contribution to the development of seed production on a scientific basis.

Having emphasized that it was a great honor for him to be awarded the highest award of Turkmenistan, the head of the Intergovernmental Coordination Council on Seed Issues of the CIS stated that the exciting event that took place within the framework of a large-scale forum was a pleasant surprise for him and was perceived as respect for his work. At the same time, a high assessment was given to the new varieties of wheat "Serdar", "Arkadag", "Pyragy", developed by scientists of agricultural research institutes of our country.

As noted, these types of wheat are characterized by high productivity, resistance to diseases and adaptation to local soil and climatic conditions, which is further confirmation that Turkmenistan attaches importance at the state level to the development of the agricultural sector on a scientific basis and, thereby, strengthening food security and increasing the country's export potential.

In conclusion, Hero-Arkadag once again congratulated the guest on the high award, wishing I. Kuzmin further success.
