MEETING OF THE AMBASSADOR OF TURKMENISTAN TO UKRAINE AND THE REPUBLIC OF MOLDOVA WITH THE CHAIRMAN OF THE GENERAL INSPECTORATE FOR MIGRATION OF THE MINISTRY OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS OF THE REPUBLIC OF MOLDOVA

April 2, 2025 the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova (concurrently) Mr. Toyly Atayev, who is on a working visit to Chisinau, held a meeting with the Chairman of the General Inspectorate for Migration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Moldova  Mr. Valentin Fedorov and representatives of the department.

During the meeting were discussed issues related to the movement of citizens of Turkmenistan through the territory of the Republic of Moldova. The Embassy asked the leadership of the Inspectorate to provide citizens with visa support for the unimpeded return of citizens of Turkmenistan to their homeland in transit through Moldova.

They discussed compliance by citizens with the migration legislation of the host country, ensuring the rights and protection of citizens of Turkmenistan located in the territory of Moldova. The Turkmen side reported that the Embassy, ​​concurrently accredited in the Republic of Moldova, is taking the necessary measures to ensure that citizens of Turkmenistan who apply to the Embassy and intend to enter the territory of Moldova are promptly documented, if necessary, with a temporary travel document, consulted on their rights and obligations during their stay abroad, on the need to comply with and respect the migration laws of the host country.

The parties discussed the algorithm for further interaction on the issues raised and agreed to continue interdepartmental communication.
