A Meeting Between the Ambassador of Turkmenistan and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Was Held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine
On 2 July 2026, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine between the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Ukraine, Toyly Atayev, and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Oleksandr Mishchenko.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects for the development of Turkmen-Ukrainian cooperation, as well as practical steps aimed at its further intensification.
Particular attention was paid to the results of Oleksandr Mishchenko’s working visit to Turkmenistan, which took place in June of this year. The Deputy Minister expressed sincere gratitude to the Turkmen side for the high level of organization of the visit, traditional Turkmen hospitality, and the substantive nature of the meetings and negotiations held.
It was noted that the visit gave an additional impetus to the development of bilateral cooperation and confirmed the mutual interest of the parties in expanding constructive partnership.
During the meeting, the parties held a thorough exchange of views on the results of the Ukrainian delegation’s talks with Rashid Meredov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, and Ahmet Gurbanov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, as well as meetings with the Khyakim of the city of Ashgabat and the Minister of Construction and Architecture of Turkmenistan. The parties emphasized the importance of the consistent implementation of the agreements reached during the visit and of maintaining the high dynamics of bilateral contacts.
The parties confirmed their interest in intensifying cooperation between the business communities of the two countries, providing comprehensive support for the activities of Ukrainian companies implementing projects in Turkmenistan, as well as creating favorable conditions for the development of contacts between Turkmen businesses and Ukrainian partners.
Special attention was paid to the development of humanitarian cooperation, including interaction in the field of education, training and professional development of specialists, as well as the continued education of citizens of Turkmenistan at higher education institutions of Ukraine.
Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their mutual readiness to continue constructive political dialogue, consistently develop mutually beneficial cooperation across a wide range of areas, and implement joint initiatives that serve the interests of the peoples of Turkmenistan and Ukraine.
