TURKMEN WEIGHTLIFTERS WON 12 MEDALS AT THE INTERNATIONAL TOURNAMENT IN DOHA

The Turkmenistan weightlifting team won 12 medals of various denominations at the international competition held in the capital of Qatar.

Bunyad Rashidov, in the 71 kg weight class, won two gold medals – in the snatch (145 kg) and the combined lift (314 kg), and silver in the clean and jerk (169 kg).

Medine Amanova (63 kg) won three silver medals – in the snatch (91 kg), clean and jerk (111 kg), and the combined lift (202 kg). Ogulshat Amanova (53 kg) won three bronze medals: in the snatch (77 kg), clean and jerk (93 kg), and the combined lift (170 kg).

Gaigysyz Torayev (79 kg) won silver in the clean and jerk (190 kg) and bronze in the combined event (330 kg). Zibagul Soymushova (58 kg) won bronze in the snatch (78 kg).

The Qatar Cup brings together three prestigious competitions: the 10th Qatar International Weightlifting Cup 2025, the Arab Youth, Junior, and Senior Weightlifting Championships, and the West Asian Championships.

The tournament is attended by 234 athletes from 28 countries. The competition concludes on December 27.
