THE UN GENERAL ASSEMBLY ADOPTED TWO RESOLUTIONS INITIATED BY TURKMENISTAN.
The UN General Assembly unanimously adopted two resolutions initiated by Turkmenistan: "The Key Role of Reliable and Sustainable Energy Connectivity in Ensuring Sustainable Development" and "The United Nations Decade on Sustainable Transport (2026–2035)." This was announced by Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov during an expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers and the State Security Council on Friday.
The decisions were adopted during the 64th plenary meeting of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, according to official Turkmen media.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed sincere gratitude on behalf of the Turkmen people to all UN member states that unanimously supported the country's initiatives.
The head of state emphasized that Turkmenistan will continue to consistently develop effective cooperation with the United Nations. The President also congratulated the meeting participants on the adoption of significant resolutions, noting their contribution to advancing the global sustainable development agenda.
In March 2025, the United Nations General Assembly unanimously approved the Resolution "Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan."
