Turkmenistan opened its state border for the safe transit of foreign citizens leaving Iran. This was reported by the foreign ministries and media outlets of the respective countries.

Under the coordination of Turkmen authorities, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, South Korea, and other countries organized the repatriation of their citizens.

On March 2, 2026, key border crossings on the Turkmen-Iranian border – Goudan-Bajgiran, Artyk-Lutfabad, Akyayla-Incheburun, Altyn Asyr-Incheburun, and Sarakhs reopened.

According to the statement, Turkmenistan is providing the necessary logistical and organizational support, ensuring the safe and efficient transit of foreign citizens.
