TURKMEN YOUTH IN UKRAINE HOLD FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT AHEAD OF WORLD HEALTH DAY

In anticipation of World Health Day, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Ukraine is holding a “Health Week,” which includes a series of sports and fitness events aimed at promoting an active and healthy lifestyle among young people and compatriots abroad.

As part of this initiative, a mini-football tournament was held on April 2, 2026, featuring teams of Turkmen students and representatives of the diaspora in Ukraine. The event took place in an atmosphere of friendly competition, mutual respect, and unity, demonstrating a high level of youth engagement in sports.

The tournament was organized as part of the year held under the motto “Independent, Permanently Neutral Turkmenistan – the Homeland of Purposeful Winged Horses”. The symbolism of the motto was reflected in the spirit of the competition: the participants’ drive for victory, team solidarity, endurance, and determination embodied a dynamic and forward-looking young generation.

The participants demonstrated a high level of preparation, respect for their opponents, and a genuine commitment to developing sports culture.

The winning team was ceremoniously presented with the Challenge Cup of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Ukraine, established to encourage and motivate young people to continue their active participation in sports and social initiatives.

Football, as one of the most popular and unifying sports, highlighted the importance of physical activity and a healthy lifestyle among young people.
