PRESIDENT OF TURKMENISTAN HAD A TELEPHONE CONVERSATION WITH THE KING OF SAUDI ARABIA

On August 1, 2020, a telephone conversation took place between President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the Servant of the Two Shrines, King of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

The head of Turkmenistan and the King of Saudi Arabia exchanged congratulations on Kurban Bayramy (Eid al-Adha), symbolizing humanism and charity.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stressed the importance of dialogue with Saudi Arabia, noting with satisfaction the high level of the Turkmen-Saudi relations, based on a mutual desire to intensify interaction. In this context, the head of state expressed gratitude to King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud for his personal contribution to strengthening cooperation.

In the context of the discussion of the global agenda, the head of Turkmenistan and the King of Saudi Arabia noted the need to develop a coordinated approach to solving pressing problems of our time, one of which is the coronavirus pandemic, which had a negative impact on international economic relations.

In this regard, the Turkmen leader expressed his conviction that the consolidation of the efforts of all states and the development of new methods for preventing and combating COVID-19 will contribute to achieving the desired results.

Reaffirming the commitment of the two countries to the course of strengthening interstate cooperation, the interlocutors expressed confidence in the successful development of dialogue across the entire spectrum of areas.

At the end of the telephone conversation, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and King of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud wished each other health and success, and the peoples of the two countries - peace, well-being and prosperity.
