THE PRESIDENT OF TURKMENISTAN RECEIVED THE MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF UZBEKISTAN
On November 17, 2023, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov.
The guest conveyed warm greetings and best wishes on behalf of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the head of Turkmenistan and the National Leader of the Turkmen people.
In response, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov addressed his best wishes to the top leadership of the neighboring state.
During the meeting, the head of state emphasized that Uzbekistan is a close neighbor and strategic partner of Turkmenistan, and the development of bilateral relations is built on centuries-old ties of friendship and mutual understanding.
As noted, today Turkmen-Uzbek cooperation is successfully developing in a wide range of areas, where countries effectively coordinate their actions and consolidate efforts in the international arena.
The parties emphasized that regularly held meetings contribute to the further expansion of comprehensive cooperation and have become the key to a high level of trust and mutual understanding between the top leadership of the two states.
As stated, a special place is given to trade and economic relations on the agenda of a multifaceted partnership. In this context, it was noted that bilateral trade turnover demonstrates positive growth dynamics, interaction in the fuel and energy, transport and logistics and agricultural sectors is expanding, and interregional interaction has intensified.
The need for further development of cultural and humanitarian ties, support for scientific and educational exchanges, holding concerts, exhibitions and other cultural events was also noted.
