THE CITY OF ANAU, PROCLAIMED BY TURKSOY AS THE CULTURAL CAPITAL OF THE TURKIC WORLD 2024, IS ON THE PAGES OF UKRAINIAN PRESS
On March 18, 2024, the next issue of the All-Ukrainian periodical printed publication “Ukraine Business Review” was published. On the pages of the issue, with the participation of the Embassy of Turkmenistan, an article was published dedicated to the Turkmen city of Anau entitled “Anau - the homeland of the ancient culture of the Turkmen land.”
As you know, the ancient city of Anau was proclaimed by the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) in 2024 as the the cultural capital of the Turkic world. Turkmenistan and TURKSOY have prepared a big program of events aimed at promoting the cultural significance of the ancient Turkmen city of Anau.
The article emphasizes the cultural and historical significance of the priceless heritage of the city of Anau, whose history goes back more than seven thousand years. The focus is on the Sheikh Seyit Jemal Ad-din Mosque, built in the mid-15th century, unique discoveries of traces of ancient settlements on the territory of Anau and many artifacts, whose age is supposedly five thousand years old, indicating that the civilization of Anau was one of the most developed in the territory Central Asia in the ancient period.
The oldest artifacts discovered during the first archaeological excavations are stored in the National Museum “Ak Bugday” in the city of Anau.
