PRESENTATION OF THE COLLECTION OF POEMS OF MAGTYMGULY FRAGI IN GEORGIAN WAS HELD THE INSTITUTE OF INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS OF THE MFA OF TURKMENISTAN

On 30 September 2024, the presentation ceremony of the collection of poems of Magtymguly Fragi in Georgian was held the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, diplomatic corps and international organizations accredited in Turkmenistan, literary scholars, scientists, journalists, faculty members and students of the Institute, as well as media representatives participated to the event.

Speakers at the presentation emphasized that the creative heritage of the great poet and thinker is a precious national legacy and an integral part of the treasury of world culture. The poet’s poems resonate in the hearts of people, as they vividly express the lasting universal values - love for the Motherland, humanism, peacefulness, the call to creation, friendship and brotherhood.

Speaking at the presentation, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Turkmenistan Konstantin Sabiashvili highlighted  the importance of the new edition in the context of strengthening the Turkmen-Georgian cultural and humanitarian dialogue. During the event, the speeches of writers, scientists and public figures of Georgia were heard via videoconference. It was underlined that the translation of Magtymguly’s poems into Georgian is another vivid example of friendship, brotherhood and close cooperation between Turkmenistan and Georgia.

The participants of the event noted that the poet’s civic position is based on respect for other nations and good-neighborliness, democracy and traditionalism. These very principles formed the basis of the content of Turkmenistan’s neutrality and continue to be the source of wisdom, continuity and relevance of our country’s diplomatic line, which is called the dialogue of civilizations.

At the end of the ceremony, the participants expressed confidence that through the new edition, the Georgian-speaking audience gained an opportunity to get acquainted with the literary works of Magtymguly Fragi.
