PRESIDENT OF TURKMENISTAN RECEIVED AMBASSADOR EXTRAORDINARY AND PLENIPOTENTIARY OF THE REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA

On December 13, 2024, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Turkmenistan Arsen Avagyan, who presented his credentials to the head of state.

Expressing sincere gratitude for the time devoted to the meeting, the diplomat conveyed to the President of Turkmenistan and the National Leader of Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov warm greetings from the President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who addressed best wishes to the entire Turkmen people.

Taking this opportunity, A.Avagyan congratulated President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the 29th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality status, addressing wishes for peace, prosperity, well-being and success on the path to progress.

Having thanked for the kind words, the head of state conveyed his best wishes in return to the top leadership of the friendly country and congratulated the diplomat on his appointment to a responsible post, wishing him success in further strengthening the Turkmen-Armenian dialogue, which is successfully developing both in a bilateral and multilateral format, through authoritative international organizations.

Continuing the conversation, the President of Turkmenistan and the diplomat noted the presence of enormous potential for building up and diversifying productive ties in a wide range of areas.

As noted, Turkmenistan and the Republic of Armenia have positive experience of cooperation in the political, trade-economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, and also demonstrate a high level of mutual understanding on current issues on the global agenda.

The implementation of major projects in the fields of trade, fuel and energy, transport and communications, as well as the search for new opportunities to expand the variety of export-import operations were identified as priority areas of partnership.

The Head of State and the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Armenia expressed confidence that fruitful interstate relations that meet the interests of the two countries and their fraternal peoples will continue to develop steadily, filling with new content.

At the end of the meeting, expressing deep gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov for the warm welcome and active attention to the issues of strengthening Turkmen-Armenian relations, the diplomat assured that, for his part, he will do everything possible to further expand the traditional dialogue of friendship and fruitful cooperation.
