TURKMENISTAN PARTICIPATED IN THE SECOND MEETING OF THE HEADS OF GOVERNMENT/ VICE PRESIDENT OF THE MEMBER STATES OF THE ORGANIZATION OF TURKIC STATES

On April 2, 2026, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Nokerguly Atagulyyev took part in the Second meeting of the heads of government/vice president of the member states of the Organization of Turkic States, held in the city of Baku. The event brought together heads of government and vice presidents, high-ranking representatives of the member states and observer countries of the Organization, as well as representatives of international institutions.

During the meeting, the sides discussed current issues related to expanding multilateral cooperation, strengthening economic ties, and developing transport and logistics corridors, trade, investment, the digital economy, energy, and sustainable development.

Particular attention was paid to the issues of further deepening economic integration among the Turkic states, implementing joint infrastructure projects, and expanding cooperation in industry, agriculture, and innovation. The participants emphasized the importance of strengthening mutual support, developing business contacts, and creating favorable conditions for the growth of mutual trade.

In his statement, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan N.Atagulyyev stressed the importance of further strengthening multilateral cooperation among the Turkic states, based on shared historical and cultural affinity, traditions, and mutual trust. The significance of coordinating the efforts of the countries in ensuring international security, sustainable development, and active cooperation within international organizations, above all the United Nations, was noted. Particular emphasis was placed on expanding trade and economic cooperation, developing investment partnership, industrial cooperation, as well as improving transport and logistics infrastructure, including the development of the East-West and North-South international transport corridors, as well as the Trans-Caspian and Lapis Lazuli routes. The strategic role of energy cooperation, the need to ensure reliable and diversified supplies of energy resources, and the importance of cultural and humanitarian interaction aimed at strengthening friendship and mutual understanding among the peoples of the Turkic states were also highlighted. Turkmenistan reaffirmed its readiness to further expand partnership in all the above-mentioned areas.
