THE PRESIDENT OF TURKMENISTAN MET WITH ANTÓNIO GUTERRES IN NEW YORK.

During a working visit to the United States, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with UN Secretary-General António Guterres.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov sincerely congratulated Secretary-General António Guterres on the successful start of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, expressing confidence that the General Assembly's activities will make a significant contribution to strengthening global peace and security, as well as achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
During the talks, the head of state invited the head of the largest international organization to participate in the International Forum, which will be held on December 12 in Ashgabat and will be dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality and the International Year of Peace and Trust declared by the UN.
The parties discussed key areas of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the UN, including strengthening global security, achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, and promoting preventive diplomacy initiatives in Central Asia. António Guterres expressed gratitude for Turkmenistan's contribution to the organization of international events, in particular the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Countries, held in Avaza.
