TURKMENISTAN PROPOSES CENTRAL ASIA FORUM ON PEACEFUL COEXISTENCE

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov announced plans to host an international forum titled “Central Asia – A Zone of Peaceful Coexistence” during his address at the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. He also proposed submitting a draft resolution to proclaim an International Day of Mediation.
President Berdimuhamedov said ensuring universal peace and mutual understanding is closely linked to the preservation of cultural and spiritual ties, as well as fostering the broader development of global civilization. Central Asia, which has historically served as a bridge between East and West, should once again become a space for dialogue, cooperation, and the exchange of values.
The forum is expected to bring together regional countries, interested states, and international organizations to strengthen cooperation and promote peaceful coexistence.
The proposed resolution on the International Day of Mediation would emphasize the importance of dialogue and joint platforms in preventing and resolving global conflicts.
