AN EVENT WAS HELD AT THE EMBASSY OF TURKMENISTAN IN UKRAINE DEDICATED TO THE MOTTO OF 2024 IN TURKMENISTAN - “THE FOUNT OF WISDOM OF MAGTYMGULY FRAGI”

On January 23, 2024, a solemn event was held at the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Ukraine dedicated to the motto of the year “The Fount of Wisdom of Magtymguly Fragi”.

This event was the first event in Ukraine to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the great thinker, classical poet of the East Magtymguly Fragi and the motto of 2024 “The Fount of Wisdom of Magtymguly Fragi”.

Turkmen youth prepared for the important event and made presentations on the importance of studying the rich and priceless literary heritage of the poet-thinker Magtymguly Fragi, who was included in the golden fund of world literature.

The participants mutually noted that the announcement of 2024 as the “Year of the great poet and thinker of the Turkic world Magtymguly Fragi” at the meeting of the permanent council of TURKSOY, as well as the inclusion of the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the birth of Magtymguly Fragi in the UNESCO List of memorable dates jointly celebrated in 2024–2025 years, are confirmation of the recognition of the work of the great thinker and poet of the East at the international level.

Students read poems imbued with deep wisdom and performed songs on words from the poem of the same name with the name of the year by Hero Arkadag “The Fount of Wisdom of Magtymguly Fragi”, as well as poems by the poet Magtymguly in the Turkmen language “Türkmeniň”, “Durasyň geler”, “Delalat yagşy”, “Atça bolmaz”, “Ýaranlar”, “Bady sabany görsem”, “Печаль зосталася” and “Добра і зла” in Ukrainian, which have become an integral part of the rich treasury of world culture. The students also distinguished themselves by their excellent skill in playing the national instrument dutar.

The book exhibition featured books dedicated to the life and creative path of the poet Magtymguly Fragi, as well as collections of the poet’s poems in Turkmen, Ukrainian, English and other foreign languages.

At the end of the event, participants were presented with a film about the life of the poet called “Magtymguly”, which was filmed in 2014 on the occasion of the 290th anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi.
