AVAZA TO HOST CONSULTATIVE MEETING OF CENTRAL ASIAN, AZERBAIJANI LEADERS
A consultative meeting of the heads of state of Central Asian countries and the Republic of Azerbaijan will be held on Oct. 8, 2026, in Turkmenistan’s Avaza National Tourist Zone, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov said during an off-site Cabinet meeting on Friday.
Meredov also said that the next meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State is scheduled to take place in Avaza on Oct. 9. Preparations for the high-level meeting are being carried out by the Foreign Ministry together with the CIS Executive Committee.
The tourist zone will also host an international women’s dialogue on the role of women in maintaining peace and achieving sustainable development, as well as an international conference on demographic processes and sustainable development, focusing on contemporary challenges and international experience.
A conference of the Interparliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth of Independent States on ensuring universal access to healthcare services and the Sustainable Development Goals is scheduled to take place in Avaza on Oct. 7.
According to the deputy prime minister, a ministerial-level meeting of Caspian littoral states on issues related to the ecology of the Caspian Sea is also planned for Oct. 7.
Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of ensuring high-quality preparations and organizing the international events in the Avaza National Tourist Zone at a high level.
